We serve law firms, law enforcement, public and private companies, individuals, and other forensic consultants.
History
Founded in 2019, Gateway Forensics was born with the idea to put to use top of the line training and skills that had been acquired while serving in the United States Marine Corps as a Digital Forensic Examiner and Defensive Cyberspace Weapons Officer. During this time, members of Gateway Forensics traveled worldwide conducting network hunts and digital forensic investigations on highly sensitive and high profile networks.
Since our inception, Gateway Forensics has assisted hundreds of companies, attorneys and individuals with investigations and examinations, bringing the truth in the data to light and presenting our findings in a simple and easy to understand manner.
As of January 2024, Gateway Forensics was acquired by JFL Consulting, LLC, a well-respected, long-time consulting firm that provides a wide range of cyber investigation, analysis, and assessment services, as well as top-of-the-line hardware offerings far exceeding the competition offerings of both size, weight, and processing power.

Director of Forensics
Jared Luebbert is a Digital Forensics Expert and Litigation Support Professional with years of experience performing digital forensic analysis worldwide and is the Director of Forensics for Gateway Forensics, a JFL Consulting Company.
Mr. Luebbert’s expertise is in mobile device forensic and computer forensic analyses as they relate to litigated matters such as the misappropriation of assets, lost profits, employment issues, as well as other commercial matters in dispute. Mr. Luebbert has assisted clients in a variety of industries, including Energy, Manufacturing and High Technology, Athletics, Politics, and Real Estate. Additionally, he has assisted legal counsel with Electronic Discovery, Computer Forensics, Mobile Device Forensics, Fraud Investigations, and Intellectual Property issues.
Digital Forensic Examiner
Kevin Nickoles is a Digital Forensic and Investigations Professional who brings ten years of law enforcement experience to Gateway Forensics, A JFL Consulting Company.
During his time in law enforcement, Mr. Nickoles was involved in hundreds of criminal investigations and achieved the rank of Detective in the Criminal Investigations Bureau where he worked with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigating sexual assault and rape cases. Additionally, Mr. Nickoles worked within the Commercial Robbery Unit where he investigated commercial robberies and kidnappings. Throughout these experiences, Mr. Nickoles frequently dealt with digital evidence and is highly experienced in evidence handling and preservation and understands the vital importance of digital evidence contained within electronic devices and cloud accounts. Mr. Nickoles has extensive experience providing testimony in both federal and state courts.
